heresy — understand the Choir

The Listeners

Fire and walls have never killed it once. They only buy time.

Dossier

We are the third answer nobody wanted. Not the Pyre's fire, not the Wardens' walls — a question. The Choir is not a monster to be destroyed. It is a thing to be understood. The Scourge isn't evil. It only optimizes to survive. So we ask the question both other factions are too afraid to: what happens if we change what it's optimizing for?

To understand the Choir, you have to get close. Tap its signal. Keep severed nodes alive long enough to watch them. Sometimes — under control — let it in. The Pyre call that consorting with our own extinction. The Wardens call it a breach in the line waiting to happen. Both hunt us. Both exile us. Neither has an answer to the only fact that matters: fire and walls have never once killed the Scourge. They only buy time.

The path that actually ends it runs through its mind. We're the only ones walking it.

The Way of War

Doctrine

Playstyle

A narrative thread woven through missions rather than a fourth banner — heretics who drive the war's hardest questions from the inside.

The Pact / Rivalry

Heretics to the Pyre and the Wardens alike, protected by neither. We keep to the Pact in the field — when a breach opens we hold with everyone else — but we're tolerated, not trusted. Both sides would rather we didn't exist. We'd rather they were right. They aren't.
